Not too many people get a second chance at life, especially at 81. Rose is the exception.
Rose is a special story. At eighty-one years old, Rose starts her life over. For decades she is alone with no one, just a handful of friends who are passing away too fast. Rose only knows of one living relative, Marie her niece, who Rose hasn’t seen for nearly forty years. A life filled, as life is, with ups and downs, highs and lows. Rose doesn’t get many breaks in her life, but at eighty-one she gets her biggest.
With renewed energy and purpose Rose sets out to find Marie. She is determined and focused, she is strong and will not let anything get in her way, even her cancer. With the help of new friends Rose sets out on her ‘Life Quest’. This last chapter in her life will only be written by Rose. This story is Rose’s story.

Dutch Jones usually does a good job at impressing me with his books. This gem is by far is best work thus far. I was absolutely blown away while reading this novel.
Rose, Life Begins at 81 is the second book by Dutch Jones I have read, I must admit he is quickly moving up the ranks as one of my favorite authors. Within the first few pages of the book I began to feel I really knew Rose and Benny. I empathized with her over her youthful decisions and reaction to Ana's accident. Rose certainly does have a few rough times and the lows are horrible, but the highs are amazing.
This is a heart-filled, beautiful book! Thank you for another incredible book that I have already twice! It was wonderful to read that Rose finally got what she deserved; true happiness. Her road trip was truly entertaining and fun! Her relationships were so loving and blessed. What a wonderful ending!
